NYCHA’s Law Department Service Window Opens Part Time

Beginning Thursday, November 5, NYCHA’s Law Department Service Window will re-open part time. The new hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Located in Manhattan at 90 Church Street on the 11th floor, the Law Department Service Window is for any person or entity taking legal action against NYCHA to serve legal papers on the Authority. The types of service papers received at the window include orders to show cause, notices of claim, summonses, subpoenas, and other legal papers. No appointment is necessary, and anyone pursuing a legal matter with NYCHA can walk up to the window to serve papers, including residents, employees, process servers, lawyers, and the general public.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Service Window was temporarily closed and the Law Department was accepting service of process via email and mail. Because the window will only be open two days a week, the Law Department will continue to accept service of process via email at ServiceECF@nycha.nyc.gov and via mail at:
