About this event

The Resident Leadership Academy is a 24 month program designed to provide training and build leadership skills for residents interested in taking a more active role in civic life within their development and/or community.

In this free 24-month program you will:

  • Explore housing policies, programs and trends
  • Gain leadership and community organizing skills
  • Understand the roles of community-led groups
  • Learn how to attract resources and build local partnerships
  • Earn college credits and Community Leadership Certificate upon completion

Program Requirements

  • Must be an authorized NYCHA resident
  • Must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency
  • Prior college experience preferred
  • Must complete assessment test
  • Must have basic computer skills(email, Microsoft Office, Zoom)
  • Must be available weekday evenings
