The Resident Leadership Academy is a 24 month program designed to provide training and build leadership skills for residents interested in taking a more active role in civic life within their development and/or community.
In this free 24-month program you will:
- Explore housing policies, programs and trends
- Gain leadership and community organizing skills
- Understand the roles of community-led groups
- Learn how to attract resources and build local partnerships
- Earn college credits and Community Leadership Certificate upon completion
Program Requirements
- Must be an authorized NYCHA resident
- Must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency
- Prior college experience preferred
- Must complete assessment test
- Must have basic computer skills(email, Microsoft Office, Zoom)
- Must be available weekday evenings
