Get Help Enrolling in Health Insurance TODAY for Coverage Starting May 1!

More than 6.5 million are enrolled in comprehensive health insurance through NY State of Health, nearly all of whom receive free or low cost coverage. And thanks to the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, even more New Yorkers are eligible to get monthly premium savings through NY State of Health–including those with higher incomes who did not qualify before. Health insurance is now more affordable than ever, and with NY State of Health's Open Enrollment period extended, New Yorkers can still enroll in a free or low-cost health plan that fits their family's needs and budget. But don't delay: you must enroll by April 15 for health insurance starting on May 1!

New Yorkers who don't have health insurance should contact GetCoveredNYC or NY State of Health right away to be in touch with a Specialist to get started. Head to nyc.gov/GetCoveredNYC or call 311 and say "GetCoveredNYC" OR visit nystateofhealth.ny.gov or call 855-355-5777 to speak with a Specialist and get started with the NY State of Health application process, including one-on-one, in-language support, scheduling appointments with an enroller, or referrals to programs for low- or no-cost health insurance.

GetCoveredNYC, NY State of Health, and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene are teaming up to get the word out that there is still time to enroll in health insurance, and we need your help! Join us to spread the word about how New Yorkers can get quality, affordable health insurance.

  • Send an email blast using the pre-written message below to your networks to promote the Day of Action.

Did you know that:

  • If you do not have health insurance or will lose your current coverage soon, you can enroll in a new insurance plan through NY State of Health?

  • Free, one-on-one support to review your enrollment options is available in your language?

  • More than 6.5 million New Yorkers are enrolled in health insurance through NY State of Health?

GetCoveredNYC connects New York City residents with resources that make sense for their budget, including the NY State of Health Marketplace, which offers a broad choice of health insurance plans and enrollment assistance to help New Yorkers choose which plan is right for them. Some plans are free and most New Yorkers are eligible for financial support to lower their costs. Thanks to the federal American Rescue Plan Act, more people are now eligible to get reduced premiums through NY State of Health–even those with higher incomes who did not qualify before.

All health insurance plans offered through NY State of Health include the following services: doctor's visits, hospital stays, emergency care, prescription drug coverage, laboratory services, preventive and wellness services (such as immunizations), chronic disease management, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices (such as durable medical equipment), and pediatric dental and vision coverage. Preventive care, such as routine office visits and recommended screenings, is free.

Virtual GetCovered Town Hall

Get Covered Virtual Town Hall April 6

Join the Mayor's Public Engagement Unit, NY State of Health, and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for a Virtual GetCovered Town Hall on April 6 at 6pm. The event will feature GetCoveredNYC specialists and enrollment counselors who will explain who can enroll and how you can enroll, as well as free resources available to New Yorkers to assist them in enrolling.

The event will be streamed live on the Public Engagement Unit Facebook page, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Facebook page, and the NY State of Health Facebook page and you will be able to drop your questions in the livestream comment section for our live Q&A at the end of the Town Hall.

In-Person Enrollment Help

PEU will be partnering with the Small Business Services (SBS) mobile unit to deliver direct services to the public through GetCoveredNYC and SBS benefits enrollment, job search and training support, tenant protection services, and other critical resources in neighborhoods across the city. The mobile unit will be parked at the DOHMH Jamaica Health Center Annex at 90-27 Parsons Blvd. in Jamaica, Queens, from 11am-4pm, and will include PEU's GetCoveredNYC Specialists who can help New Yorkers navigate their health insurance options.
